Want to make a difference in the world? As an Ella volunteer, you can! All you need to do is take the first step.
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is a federal government program to provide better support, coordination and access to services for people with disability. It’s a single national system, which means regardless of your disability or where you live, you will be able to equally access existing services.
About 460,000 Australians under the age of 65 with a permanent and significant disability will be provided with the reasonable and necessary supports they need to live an ordinary life. The Ella Centre will be supporting adults aged 18 years and over.
The National Disability Service rolls out in the Inner West from 1st July 2017.
The changes that are required to existing disability support systems are significant and the NDIS system is being introduced gradually, to ensure a smooth transition for people with disability and support providers.
Funding in the disability and aged-care sectors is undergoing the biggest and best change in decades.
Current Ella Carers and Service Users
Preparation for the NDIS has already begun and you may have already been contacted for a planning meeting. Please let us know when you are contacted by the NDIS for your planning meeting so that we can then talk through how your support would continue once you receive your NDIS plan.
