The Linkage Program
The Ella Centre’s Linkage Program is designed to support individuals with a disability, who are in receipt of post school options or community participation funding,
to participate in the local community. Through this involvement the individuals have the opportunity to develop their living skills and enhance their quality of life.
The program is designed to meet the needs of clients with moderate to high support needs. The activities are mainly focused on maintaining and developing their living skills to increase their independence.
Each participant has an Individual Program Plan, in line with person centred planning. Individual goals are developed in conjunction with the individual and, if they choose, their significant others.
The Linkage Program aims to assist each participant to:
- Increase participation and involvement in the community
- Develop skills in communication, literacy, numeracy and independent travel
- Develop decision making skills and increase self confidence
- Maintain and enhance independent living skills and self esteem.
- Increase individual participation and involvement in the community.
The Linkage program is generally based in the community so participants can access a range of activities and opportunities in wider Sydney. Outings operate mainly via public transport.
The program operates Monday to Friday, from 9am to 3pm.
Funding
The Linkage Program is funded by the Department of Ageing, Disability and Home Care.
