Aged Day Care
The Aged Day Centre runs every weekday at The Ella Centre, offering social and recreational activities for the frail aged and people with early stage dementia. Programs include:
- word games, theme days, crafts, bowls, speakers and guest entertainers and discussions
- monthly outings to local places of interest
- opportunities to meet new people and make friends.
The programs are led by a qualified co-ordinator who is assisted by both paid and volunteer staff.
Morning tea and a hot lunch are provided every day and transport is organised between a client’s home and the program via The Ella Centre’s wheelchair enabled bus.
The cost is $10 per session for centre-based days and $15 for outings. Fees can be negotiated for those experiencing financial hardship.
A waiting list may apply in some instances.

People who have a health problem requiring professional nursing care, have inappropriate or wandering behaviour or require more than partial assistance to transfer from a wheelchair may not be able to participate.
